I does it!
For those who do not know, Blogathon is a yearly event to raise money for charity. Kinda like the Walk for Hunger or similar marathon ventures, only with, y'know, blogs.
From 9 AM EST on Saturday to 9 AM EST on Sunday, I will be making a post every half hour. So, yup, staying up allll night. Been a while since I did that. And in honor of this dubious achievement, readers are (strongly, very strongly!) encouraged to sponsor me by donating to my chosen charity, Heifer Project. You may do so here!

I will be blogging to benefit Heifer Project International, a charity that my family and I have been involved in for years. Heifer Project is the ultimate manifestation of the 'teach a man to fish' philosophy: rather than handing out food to poor families in need, they hand out livestock. Families are educated in caring for their animals. Milk or eggs can form the basis of a family business. And when, as animals are wont, they start reproducing, the gift is passed on: the offspring are given to new families, spreading the benefits throughout the community.
I happen to think it's a marvelous idea. And, as many of my fellow bloggers (more later) are blogging to benefit local charities, I liked the idea of giving an international bent.

But I couldn't possibly do anything so boring as simply, y'know, rambling at you for twenty-four hours. I wanted to make my Blogathon something interesting, something special. And what do most of you read my journal for? Fanfiction.
I was bowled over by the response to a throwaway Dumbledore/Grindelwald fic I posted a bit back (and dear lord am I behind on responses! the past few days have been insane), and the pairing has been eating my brain. And I was hit by another bunny for it recently, and thinking, no, don't bother with it, you'll never get around to it...
...and then I realized that it would be absolutely the best thing to write when sleepless and rambly, as it's just that sort of fic.
So I'll probably be posting an installment every hour and making a brief non-fic post on the half hour, or something like that. With any luck, I should finish it in the 24 hours. If I burn out or have time and energy left when done, I will be inviting sponsors to issue ficlet requests.
So. Dumbledore/Grindelwald! FOR THE GREATER GOOD! Spread the news!
